Remember back in 2021 when the Biden administration posted this?
Well, it’s that time of year again. The good news is that the price has gone down from 2022, but not significantly. In 2021, when Biden saved us 16 cents, the cost was $59.50. In 2022, it rose to $69.68. Biden wasn’t bragging then. This year it is down a whopping 3% to $67.73. As CNN reported:
“The slight downward direction in the cost of a cookout doesn’t counter the dramatic increases we’ve seen over the past few years. Families are still feeling the pinch of high inflation along with other factors keeping prices high,” said Roger Cryan, chief economist at the American Farm Bureau Federation.
This is the second highest year on record in the ten years since the Farm Labor Bureau started reporting on this. At the same time as we’re paying near record highs for a cookout, the Democrats are launching their “Bidenomics” campaign. This is pure gaslighting, for the working class can see every time they go to the grocery store or fill up at the gas station that Bidenomics are not benefiting them any more than saving 16 cents did in 2021.
Bidenomics is a lie. The economic policies of the Biden regime are not growing the economy from the middle out and the bottom up. They’re benefitting the ruling class, just like every other president. Reagonomics differ very little from Bidenomics. Let’s look at what Bidenomics did just a week ago. The Department of Energy gave Ford Motors a no strings attached $9.2 billion dollar loan on June 22. Here is how Shawn Fain, president of the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) responded:
Yesterday, the federal government announced a massive $9.2 billion giveaway loan to Ford Motor Co. through the Department of Energy to create 7,500 low-road jobs with no consideration for wages, working conditions, union rights or retirement security.
This handout may further enrich Ford shareholders, but it shortchanges communities and the UAW members who produce Ford’s vehicles, powertrains and record-breaking profits.
We have been absolutely clear that the switch to electric engine jobs, battery production and other EV manufacturing cannot become a race to the bottom.
Not only is the federal government not using its power to turn the tide – they’re actively funding the race to the bottom with billions in public money.
These companies are extremely profitable and will continue to make money hand over fist whether they’re selling combustion engines or EVs.
Yet the workers get a smaller and smaller piece of the pie. Why is Joe Biden’s administration facilitating this corporate greed with taxpayer money?
That’s a good question. The answer is easy - Biden is on the side of corporate greed. Bidenomics is more trickledown with a new face. In fact, the Biden administration has been so inept at passing pro-working class legislation that in promoting Bidenomics the best they could come up with was:
These are the best they could come up with? That’s a pretty pathetic list that might be helpful to a few people, but doesn’t overcome the reality of what Bidenomics is doing to the country. According to the latest Consumer Price Index report, in the the last year food prices are up 6.7%. Prescription drug prices have increased every month in 2023. And according to Bureau of Labor Statistics:
Real average hourly earnings increased 0.2 percent, seasonally adjusted, from May 2022 to May 2023. The change in real average hourly earnings combined with a decrease of 0.9 percent in the average workweek resulted in a 0.7-percent decrease in real average weekly earnings over this period.
Real wages are down. Thanks Bidenomics! No wonder in April 2023, 61% of workers were living paycheck to paycheck. Is this what a middle out and bottom up economy looks like? No increase in the minimum wage, legislating against railroad workers, restarting student debt payments, and a $1,400 check when they promised $2,000. This is the true face of Bidenomics. Class war on the working class.
The cost of a BBQ being down ".16¢" has got to be the weakest line I've ever heard. Like, that's the difference in price between name-brand and store-brand salt.
Biden is a joke, a bad one, as are the Democrats as a whole. Thinking about him and them works perfectly as an emetic. We need an entirely political system--this one is morally bankrupt through and through, increasingly authoritarian, and every year increasingly threatens humanity and the biosphere with destruction. Off with their heads!
