In a recent Twitter post, Ukrainian President Zelensky praised numerous units of the Ukrainian military including Nazi battalions.
Aidar, the 24th separate assault battalion, pushed the enemy back six kilometers and destroyed up to two enemy companies in battle. - Zelensky
Aidar is one of the most famous Nazi battalions other than Azov. Amnesty International reported on their war crimes committed in 2014. In this extensive report, they wrote, “While hailed by many nationally as a committed fighting force, the Aidar battalion has acquired locally a reputation for brutal reprisals, robbery, beatings and extortion.” Ukraine officially integrated the Aidar battalion into their Army as the 24th Separate Assault Battalion on March 2, 2015 - after Amnesty International’s report on their war crimes.
It’s not Europe. It’s a bit different… There is a war here. The law has changed, procedures have been simplified…If I choose to, I can have you arrested right now, put a bag over your head and lock you up in a cellar for 30 days on suspicion of aiding separatists. --Aidar battalion commander to Amnesty International researcher
In nearly all cases documented by Amnesty International the victims were subjected to beatings at the moment of capture and/or during interrogations, and either had to pay ransom for their release, or had possessions, including money, cars, telephones, and other valuables seized by the battalion members. Many of the witnesses and victims approached by Amnesty International were reluctant to share details of the incidents, fearing retaliation from Aidar battalion members. - Amnesty International
The Motto of the Aidar battalion is З нами Бог or “God is with us” which is inscribed on their insiginia. This insignia was posted by Zelensky on his twitter post praising them.
This slogan might seem harmless, but it was actually commonly used by Nazi Germany. Although this slogan did not originate with the Nazis as it came from earlier German history, it was still adopted by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. The Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right identifies this phrase with the concept of “Racial Holy War” used by Nazi hate groups today. The use of it as a motto for the Aidan battalion cannot be considered coincidental.
In addition to praising the Aidar battalion, Zelensky also praised the 3rd Seperate Assault Brigade.
The 3rd separate assault brigade, excellent fighters. They have stopped the enemy from advancing towards Kostiantynivka and pushed the occupiers back up to 8 kilometers. - Zelensky
At first glance, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade would appear to be a regular Ukrainian army unit created in 2022 in response to Russian operations. But it turns out that it was formed from special operation forces of the Azov regiment. As reported by Ukrainska Pravda:
The Special Operations Forces of the Azov regiment became the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade as part of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are already fighting on the Bakhmut front in Donetsk Oblast.
This is simply Azov by another name. They even made their own propaganda video which includes images of a burning Viking longship.
The burning of the longship was an event attended by thousands of Azov soldiers in 2022. A literal gathering of Nazis. This is an openly Nazi brigade.
Zelensky also praised the 5th Separate Assault Brigade.
The 5th separate assault brigade is one of them. Their bravery and professionalism prevented the occupiers from encircling Toretsk and further encircling Bakhmut in the south. - Zelensky
The 5th Separate Assault Brigade has a clear SS in their insiginia, made from one 5 and one lightning bolt. This clearly distinguishes it from the double lightning bolts used by the SS in Nazi Germany. The Aidar Battalion actually operates as a part of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade. It did not take me long to find a picture on their Telegram channel of them posing with a Flag of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the blood and soil flag of Bandera’s OUN.
The last group that Zelensky praised was the 92nd separate assault brigade. This is the only one of the group that does not have explicit Nazi connections. If Nazism is not a problem in Ukraine, as so much of the mainstream media claims, then why is it that three of the four units that Zelensky singled out for praise have blatant Nazi connections? The Nazism in Ukraine is not being hidden, but the western press is running cover for them as the United States funnels billions of dollars of relief and military equipment to Ukraine. The United States is openly funding, training, and arming Nazis.
In addition to this recent praise of Nazi battalions, Zelensky recently met with Azov founder and open Neo-Nazi, Andriy Biletsky. This meeting has been detailed by The Grayzone here.
This surprises me not one bit. The US has never had any real problem with fascists. Fascism is just a more blatant form of capitalism, and the US is heading in a more fascist direction every year.
