On Monday, July 25, the Biden administration quietly announced the promotion of Victoria Nuland to Acting Deputy Secretary of State. This came with the retirement of the current Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman. Wendy Sherman was herself a product of the revolving door state department to lobbyist to state department pipeline. Sherman is a vice chair of the Albright Stonebridge Group as well as being on the board of directors of the Atlantic Council.
Upon Wendy’s retirement, President Biden has asked Victoria Nuland to serve as Acting Deputy Secretary until our next Deputy Secretary is confirmed. We are fortunate to have someone with her experience, skill, and commitment to the Department take on this added responsibility. - Secretary of State Antony Blinken
Victoria Nuland is much more infamous than her predecessor due to her role in overseeing the Nazi led Maidan coup in Ukraine in 2014. Rather than losing her job after a leaked phone conversation between her and US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt revealed her part in the coup and her statement “Fuck the EU,” she has continued to be an integral part of US state department policy. She was appointed to her current position as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs of the United States by Biden in 2021.
So that would be great, I think, to help glue this thing and to have the UN help glue it and, you know, Fuck the EU. - Victoria Nuland
This leaked call showed that the US was behind the coup and choosing the new government that was installed after the coup. She also said in this call that Joe Biden was an integral part of the operation.
So on that piece Geoff, when I wrote the note Sullivan's come back to me VFR , saying you need Biden and I said probably tomorrow for an atta-boy and to get the deets to stick. So Biden's willing. - Victoria Nuland
On December 13, 2013 at the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation Conference, sponsored by Chevron, she admitted that they gave Ukraine an option:
But I also made clear that the United States believes there is a way out for Ukraine, that it is still possible to save Ukraine’s European future, and that that is where we wanted to see the president lead his country.
That was going to require immediate steps to deescalate the security situation and immediate political steps to end the crisis and get Ukraine back into a conversation with Europe and the International Monetary Fund.
This is a clear admission of the involvement of the US in the protests. Of course, this was blatantly obvious as Victoria was on the ground at the Maidan handing out food to the protesters. Senator John McCain spoke from the same stage as neo-Nazi Oleh Tahnybok to the protesters on December 15, 2013. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy spoke at the same time. It is easy to see that the US was on the same side as the Nazis during this protest.
When Biden originally appointed Nuland to his administration, Code Pink protested this appointment, highlighting her connection to Tahnybok and enabling of the far right Nazis in Ukraine.
While enabling Nazis in Ukraine is the greatest of her accomplishments, she has a long history in Washington. Here are a few choice items from her career:
A career Foreign Service Officer, she was Principal Deputy National Security Advisor to Vice President Cheney from July 2003 until May 2005 where she worked on the full range of global issues, including the promotion of democracy and security in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Lebanon, and the broader Middle East.
Ambassador Nuland was United States Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO in Brussels, Belgium from July 2000 to July 2003. There she was instrumental in NATO’s historic invocation of Article 5 of its charter – "an attack on one ally is an attack on all" – in support of the U.S. after September 11, 2001. Ambassador Nuland also worked intensively on the enlargement of the Alliance to include 7 new members, the creation of the NATO-Russia Council, NATO’s first deployment "out of area" to Afghanistan and its defense of Turkey during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Yet in spite of all this, Victoria Nuland is getting a promotion to the number two position in the State Department. While the promotion is temporary, she is likely to be the permanent choice for the position. Victoria Nuland’s promotion combined with the recent appointment of Elliot Abrams to the Public Diplomacy Commission show that Biden still loves neoconservatives.

Well done, Birrion. shared.
Ms Nuland has had bipartisan support in her efforts to promote color revolutions in Eastern Europe.
So tangentially this simple fact leads me to keep voting for third party candidates.
I have hopes that Dr. Cornel West can win this election and Ms Nuland can do something less threatening for the course of humanity. Because four more years of Abrams and Nuland in the State Department is not healthy for our favorite planet.
