It’s interesting to me how many series Amazon supports that are openly critical of capitalism. For example, Mr. Robot is available on Amazon and among other things it’s about hacking the capitalist financial system.
Upload is another series that’s available on Amazon prime that is set in a not so distant future. In this future, people are uploaded to a digital afterlife for a price. Under capitalism, even “heaven” isn’t free. In fact, the quality of their experience in the upload is directly connected to how much money they spend. And life for those alive on earth isn’t any better, the exploitation of the working class is clearly shown in Upload. There is also a reference to the Koch brothers as billionaire David Choak is a main character. And in the second season, there’s a brief reference to Pete Buttigieg with a hyperloop station. There’s plenty of good content for leftists to pick out in this show and it’s hilarious entertainment as well. It’s just too bad Amazon is making money off of it, we’ll have to wait until after the revolution to take those proceeds back for the working class.
