This week, in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, I’m recommending everyone watch Reservation Dogs. This comedy series by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi is entirely written and directed by Indigenous peoples. It premiered on August 9, which is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. The cast and production team is also predominantly Indigenous Americans. And it’s absolutely brilliant, both hilarious and poignant. It was recently renewed for a second season, which is great news.
You can watch it on Hulu:
I've really enjoyed this show, and feel it accurately represents life for people on the rez.
