More Nazi battalions in the Ukrainian armed forces
Ukraine is in the news again, so I decided to finally finish this piece. For all the wrong reasons, Republicans are blocking the Biden regime’s request for another $60 billion to Ukraine. We can hope this continues to be the case, as much of that money will end up funding Nazis. You can find the previous two articles here - showing that Azov is not an anomaly and that the Ukrainian armed forces are full of explicitly Nazi divisions. With the release of Part 3, I do not plan to further document these battalions, but I also do not believe this list to be fully comprehensive. There are simply too many Nazi groups in Ukraine.

It’s Not Just Azov (Part 3)
Nazism in Ukraine continues to be a huge issue today. Nazi patches, insignia, and tattoos are often seen in photos of Ukrainian troops. This is not Russian propaganda and is easy to verify.
While this list is not comprehensive, I have done my best to document the most prominent far right and Nazi units in the Ukrainian armed forces.
The 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade
In October 2023, Ukrainian President Zelensky visited the headquarters of this brigade and signed their flag, which included their logo - a version of the 14th Waffen SS insignia from World War 2. On December 5, 2022, the Ukrainian Supreme Court declared that symbols of the 14th Waffen SS are not Nazi. But anyone with any sense of history knows better. The 14th Waffen SS “Galicia” division was involved in numerous war crimes and pogroms, murdering thousands of Jews and Poles.
The 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade has also been reported to have conscripted orphans under the age of 18 - child soldiers.
SS Bears
This group decided to be openly Nazi, like so many other Ukrainian battle groups. The SS Bears is a small group of originally volunteers that was absorbed into the Ukrainian National Guard as part of Azov, according to the BBC Ukraine.
The group was named after their commander Oleksandr "Bear" Kravtsov and the SS - the Nazi schutzstaffel. Although the “Bears” claim the SS stands for Secret Service, the SS lightning bolts on their flag show the clear connection to Nazis. Oleksandr himself has 14-88 tattooed on his shoulders, famous Nazi symbolism.
The unit is quite small at 10-14 members of whom 10 were captured fighting with Azov battalions in Mariupol. However, it is part of a larger organization known as the The Company Group Team, which has deep ties to numerous Nazi groups.
36th Marine Brigade
The 36th Marine Brigade was largely destroyed at Mariupol but appears to have reformed with a new patch featuring the Nazi Black Sun. Former Ukrainian President Poroshenko posted a picture of himself with the new patch in September, 2023.
Misanthropic Division
The Misanthropic Division was a Nazi group involved directly in the Maidan coup and has been fighting in the Donbas since then. They are also known as Division Phoenix and have been associated with The Company Group Team which uses a similar logo to that on their flag. They are not officially sanctioned by Ukraine. They have actively recruited foreign mercenaries to fight with them and have been used as a source for Azov recruitment. According to their now expired website, “The main goal of the Misanthropic Division information resource is the ideological, cultural and spiritual development of the comrades of the National Socialist movement.” They are Nazis and proud of it.
